IPS is one of the top posts of INDIA. for IPS you have to write Civil Services exam that is conducted by UPSC. IN IPS almost every year 3,50,000 candidates appear for exam and at the end only almost 200 candidates are appointed as IPS officer.
for Civil Services exam you need graduation degree from recognized college or university.
your age must be within 21 years to 32 years. there is relaxation in upper limit upto 3 years for OBC and 5 years for SC/ST candidates.
before apply for Civil Services you need to check your physical standards. because it might leads to disqualification at the time of Physical and Medical Examination.
Physical Requirements:
Height:- Male 165 cm & ST(not for SC and OBC) 160 cm.
Female 150 cm & ST(not for SC and OBC) 145 cm.
Chest:- Male minimum 84 cm. Expansion 5 cm.
Female minimum 79 cm. Expansion 5 cm.
Eye Sight:- 6/6 or 6/9 distant vision for good Eye
6/12 or 6/9 for worst eye.
Near Vision J1 for Good Eye and J2 for worst eye.
