The Women were inducted only in Armed Forces Medical Core till the year 1992. From July 1992 the Navy started inducting women as SSC(Short Service Commissioned) officers in selected branches of Navy. Presently women are inducted into following branches of Navy as Officers-

4. Logistics
5. Education
6. Naval Architecture
Eligibility Criteria-
1. SSC ATC-
B.E/B.Tech in any discipline with 60% marks from recognised college or University with Math and Physics at 10+2 Level.
Age should be within 19.5 years to 25 years.
2. SSC Observer-
B.E/B.Tech in any discipline with 55% marks from recognised college or University with Math and Physics at 10+2 Level.
Age should be within 19.5 years to 24 years.
3. SSC Law-
A degree in Law qualifying for enrolment as an Advocate under the Advocates Act 1961 with min 55% Marks.
Age should be within 22 years to 27 years.
4. SSC Logistics-
Logistics Cadre
(a) B.Tech/ B.E (Any Discipline)
(b) MBA with First Class
(c) B.Sc/ B.Com/B.Sc(IT) with First Class and a Post Graduate Diploma in Material Management/ Finance/ Logistics/ Supply Chain Management.
